Harry "The Weapons Years"		Harry "The Oracle"

Having spent most of his career developing weapon systems, Harry Shaw refocused on his long held vision of helping people versus engineering weapons that were killing them. He took a job with the Department of the Interior and accepted a Presidential appointment as the U.S. Fire Administrator under President Ronald Reagan. During his tenure as U.S. Fire Administrator, Mr. Shaw funded and pioneered technology that the global market needed and embraced. The first fire detector was developed with grants generated by Harry Shaw’s influence. The adoption of residential fire sprinklers was one of many projects that Mr. Shaw pioneered while also mandating that life saving technology into local building codes nationwide.

Mr. Shaw is widely acknowledged as the “God Father” of the residential sprinkler industry. His passion to save lives and resources were really tested as he watched the evening news one night. He watched in horror as a report illustrated how firefighter’s were developing serious and sometimes fatal health problems by the very same fire retardant’s that were supposed to be saving lives. Shaw’s desire to do the right thing caused him to react. He assembled a handpicked team of trusted scientist’s and engineers and challenged and inspired them to greatness.
When he and his team had fulfilled their mission, they had cultivated a product that far exceeded Harry’s initial expectations and spun off some positive unforeseen benefits.
They had brought to life the world’s first and only ALL natural, 100% biodegradable, safe for the environment and the person’s deploying it…FLAME GUARD GEL, the only long term fire retardant that works when it is wet and when it is dry. Harry had a vision of a “GREEN” product before green was a social standard and economically feasible. Now in the twilight of his career (90 years young) with failing eyesight, his vision is still wholeheartedly embraced by the dedicated team of Fail Safe Safety Systems, which Harry still runs as CEO. Harry is now affectionately referred to by his colleagues as the “Oracle” of the fire industry. Harry often chuckles as he ponders going from being referred to as” The Godfather” to being “The Oracle”.
